Yoga and healthy ageing
Yoga is not just for young adults. It helps older adults to retain flexibility and strength. According to the Duchess of York yoga is an important component of healthy ageing. The Duchess is 70 years old but maintains an active yoga practice. Of yoga, she says:
"It's very good for you as you get older, it makes you less stiff - good for your muscles. It makes you much more supple. I think it's very important as you get older to take exercise and stretch."
Yoga is an extremely useful tool for older adults seeking to maintain a good quality of life. If you already practice don't stop. If you don't already practice it's time to get going.
