Medicine from your garden?

Wellness from your garden?

If you have medicinal, spay free plants, good guidance, and a good recipe, it is quite possible to use your garden as a kind of medicine cabinet. We made calendula oil for a family member who suffers from eczema, and whose body was reacting to years of steroid treatment.

We support allopathic medicine, but there are times when it doesn't help, or when a two pronged approach may be helpful. We have been influenced by the writings of Dr David Servan-Schreiber, and the oral history passed down from Shanti's grandmother, who taught Shanti the wild plants that could heal. Shanti's grandmother's instructions were practical. In a large field of what looked like identical looking grasses, Shanti's grandmother would pick out that one leaf that could heal a sore stomach. There were many other similar lessons too. Have you used traditional medicines?

Today's Wellness Project - Rye Sourdough Bread

Picture

I've been in ❤️ with sourdough bread since I visited San Francisco as a teenager. I couldn't get enough of that tasty sour flavour. Here's our sourdough rye bread. Sourdough starter made from rye flour and water. Then the bread. Not only is the bread full of flavour and goodness, I have enough starter for the next baking session.
